A native Californian from West Hollywood, Mr. Howard Abelson received his Bachelor of Arts from UC Berkeley and his Juris Doctor from UC Hastings School of Law.
Mr. Howard Abelson is a seasoned trial attorney who has served as Deputy District Attorney in San Bernardino County and as Deputy City Attorney in Oakland. He also has served as Judge Pro-Tem for the California Municipal Court in Richmond, as Special Master and as Arbitrator for the Contra Costa County Superior Court. Mr. Howard Abelson has spent many years in private practice providing sophisticated representation for his clients primarily in the areas of estate planning and administration, landlord/tenant law and contract negotiations.
In addition to numerous professional legal accomplishments, Mr. Howard Abelson has a long history of public service and advocacy. He actively participates in local charities, public agencies, local government and non-profit organizations, using his legal experience to further his professional goal of making a difference in people’s lives. Notably, Mr. Howard Abelson served as a Member of City Council and Mayor of El Cerrito, and also as Director of the San Francisco Bay Area Rapid Transit District (BART).
